Revenue attribution

Connect email performance to revenue

Most email platforms stop at opens and clicks. Sendbound goes further. Add the conversion tracking snippet to your checkout confirmation page — or fire a server-side conversion event via the API — and every campaign automatically shows attributed revenue alongside its open and click metrics.

Attribution uses a configurable last-click window (default 7 days, up to 30). If a subscriber opened three emails and clicked the third, the conversion is attributed to that campaign. You can also see assisted conversions where an earlier email was part of the journey.

Revenue data flows into your campaign overview, sequence analytics, and A/B test results. When you run a subject line test, you can pick the winner by revenue rather than just opens — the metric that actually matters to your business.

  • Configurable attribution window (1–30 days)
  • Last-click and assisted conversion models
  • Per-campaign and per-variant revenue breakdown
  • Stripe, Shopify, and custom event integrations

Audience intelligence

Know your audience across every device

A campaign that performs well on desktop but breaks on mobile costs you half your list. Sendbound shows you exactly how subscribers open your emails — by device type, email client, operating system, and country — so you can design for your actual audience, not a hypothetical one.

The send-time optimizer uses per-subscriber open-time history to schedule delivery at the moment each individual is most likely to open. Over time, it learns from each campaign and improves its predictions automatically.

Built for every email-sending team

Whether you send 1,000 or 100,000,000 emails a month, the same analytics power is available from day one.

Growth & marketing teams

Track campaign ROI from send to revenue. See which subject lines lift open rates, which CTAs drive clicks, and which sequences convert trials to paid. Run A/B tests without spreadsheets.

Product & engineering teams

Monitor transactional email health. Get alerted when delivery latency spikes, bounce rates climb, or a specific email type starts soft-failing. Debug by message ID with the full event log.

Deliverability teams

Watch bounce and complaint trends before they damage your sender reputation. Compare performance across sending domains, IP pools, and time windows to catch problems early.

Analytics questions, answered

How does Sendbound handle bot opens?

Sendbound uses a combination of IP reputation databases, open-timing analysis, and click pattern detection to filter machine-generated opens. Your dashboard shows both raw and bot-filtered counts so you can see exactly what was excluded. Bot-filtered data is used for all aggregate metrics by default.

What is a good open rate benchmark?

Benchmarks vary significantly by industry and email type. Transactional emails (receipts, password resets) typically see 40–65% open rates. Marketing campaigns average 20–35%. Rather than comparing to industry averages, Sendbound shows your own trend over time — a declining trend on your own list is more actionable than any static benchmark.

How long is analytics data retained?

Aggregate campaign stats are retained indefinitely on all plans. Per-message event logs (individual delivery, open, click events) are retained for 90 days on the free plan and 24 months on all paid plans. You can export the full event log via API at any time.

Can I access analytics data via API?

Yes. The analytics API exposes campaign-level stats, per-message events, link performance, and bounce/complaint records. Query by campaign ID, message ID, time range, or event type. Webhook events are also available for streaming events to your own data warehouse in real time.

Does A/B testing require a minimum list size?

There is no hard minimum, but Sendbound shows a statistical significance indicator and recommends at least 500 recipients per variant for reliable results at 95% confidence. For very small lists, you will see a warning and the auto-winner feature will wait until significance is reached before promoting.

Do you filter out unsubscribes from open and click rates?

Yes. Open, click, and bounce rates are calculated against delivered messages only, and unsubscribed contacts are excluded from future sends automatically. You can also see raw unsubscribe counts and rates in the campaign detail view, broken down by message variant if you ran an A/B test.

Can I track email-driven revenue?

Yes. Add the Sendbound conversion pixel to your confirmation page or fire a server-side conversion event via the API when a purchase occurs. Sendbound attributes the conversion to the last clicked campaign within your configured attribution window (default 7 days, configurable up to 30).

Is there a way to see analytics across all campaigns at once?

The Overview dashboard shows aggregate metrics across all campaigns for any date range. You can filter by sending domain, campaign tag, audience segment, or email type. All views are exportable to CSV.
