Email didn't break — the tools around it did
Sendbound started in 2023 when our team got tired of explaining why password reset emails landed in spam and why reputable providers still had docs written in 2012.
We launched an open-source React Email renderer in February 2023. In six months, it had 15,000 stars. The entire sending stack needed to be rebuilt from first principles.
In August 2023, we launched our email API. Today Sendbound sends over a billion emails a year for companies from two-person startups to publicly traded companies.
